Muses come in many forms. In this two-hour workshop we will identify, honor and engage with our muses. Join Dawn Angelicca Barcelona, Lillian Howan, and Maw Shein Win as they share the ways that muses can inspire, energize, and deepen your writing practice.

 Instructors: 
Dawn Angelicca Barcelona is a Filipina-American poet based in San Francisco, originally from NJ. She was a U.S. Department of State Fulbright Grantee to South Korea in 2014. Her work can be seen in 
Quiet Lightning, Killing the Angel, Fulbright Korea Infusion, work to a calm, and In Between Hangovers. She volunteers with the National Alliance on Mental Illness and is a curator for Kearny Street Workshop's annual APAture Festival. https://shuffle.do/@dawnangelicca

 Lillian Howan’s writings have been published in Asian American Literary Review, Café Irreal, Calyx, Jellyfish Review, the museum of americana, New England Review, South Dakota Review, Vice-Versa, and the anthologies Ms. Aligned 2 and Under Western Eyes. Her debut novel, The Charm Buyers (University of Hawai'i Press), received the Ka Palapala Po'okela Award for Excellence.
 
Maw Shein Win’s poetry chapbooks are Ruins of a glittering palace (SPA/Commonwealth Projects) and Score and Bone (Nomadic Press). Invisible Gifts: Poems was published by Manic D Press in 2018. Win is the first poet laureate of El Cerrito, California (2016 - 2018). Her full-length poetry collection Storage Unit for the Spirit House (Omnidawn) was longlisted for the 2021 PEN America Open Book Award. She often collaborates with visual artists, musicians, and other writers and was a Spring 2021 ARC Poetry Fellow at UC Berkeley. mawsheinwin.com
